Soil Preparation
This applies whether you plan to sod or seed. Ensure that all stones, garbage and seasonal roots are removed. Make sure that you have at least 10 centimetres (4 inches) of excellent topsoil. You might have to add some raw material, lime or fertilizer to the soil, although a healthy application of peat moss or composted manure mixed in with the soil is usually sufficient. Seeding
